Tampere University of Technology, TUT, specializes in the education of Architects and Masters of Science in Technology and Doctors of Technology or Philosophy. It is the second-largest university in Engineering Sciences in Finland and has a lively campus of 12,600 Engineering and Architecture students.

Founded in 1965, the university offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Architecture, Automation, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Communications and Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Environmental and Energy Technology, Fibre, Textile and Clothing Science, Industrial Engineering and Management, Information and Knowledge Management, Information Technology, Knowledge Management, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Science and Engineering.

The campus is located about eight kilometers from the city center. Tampere is a picturesque city of 200,000 inhabitants. It is located on a beautiful isthmus between two lakes. High tech and culture flourish side by side. Tampere and the surrounding areas also offer excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Exchange dates:
Fall semester: late August to end of January
Spring semester: beginning of February to end of May

Accommodation:
Furnished apartments, each housing two to three students in individual study-bedrooms, a shared kitchen and bathroom. Located within 10 minutes’ walking distance from the university campus. The apartments have a permanent Internet connection.
