university of tampere

The University of Tampere, founded in 1925, is a research-oriented, multidisciplinary university. A great variety of courses in English are taught at its six Faculties: Economics and Administration, Education, Humanities, Information Sciences, Medicine and Social Sciences. Courses of different faculties can be combined according to students’ own interests. There are numerous options for international students to learn Finnish.

The city of Tampere is located on an isthmus between two lakes in beautiful natural surroundings, two hours by train or car from Helsinki. Tampere has about 200,000 inhabitants and it is the largest inland city of the Nordic countries. Tampere is a significant center for business, education, research and culture.
