University of Eastern Finland

The University of Eastern Finland is a public multidisciplinary research university with three campuses and 14,000 students. The campuses are located in the cities of Kuopio, Joensuu and Savonlinna. Founded in January 2010 as the result of the merger of the University of Kuopio and the University of Joensuu, the university has the following faculties: the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Forestry, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies, and the Philosophical Faculty.

The Kuopio Campus is located on the shore of the scenic Lake Kallavesi - one of the more than 180,000 lakes of Finland. The city of Kuopio offers a great opportunity for living close to nature while providing modern conveniences and an abundant cultural life. The safe environment and friendly atmosphere of the city makes it easy for international students to intergrate into the community. Kuopio is also known as a lively centre of music, dance and theatre.
